Principal's Address

Mr. K. Mashingaidze aka Mr. K. - Term 3 2022

On behalf of the staff at Study House Education, I am happy to welcome you to Term3- 2022. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential

We recognize that to be successful in school, our children need support from all of us. A strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your child's education. As partners, we share responsibility for our children's success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

Our focus for this term and for this year is PROMOTING EXCELLENCE THROUGH HARD WORK. It is therefore imperative that you guide and support your child's learning by ensuring that he/she

· Has the necessary learning materials e.g., course work books, calculators, pens and pencils etc.

· Completes all homework assigned by teachers

· Attends school daily and arrives on time

· Comes to school dressed appropriately

· Develops a reading culture even at home

· Shares school experiences with you so that you become aware of his or her school life

· Informs you if he /she needs extra support

· Does not bunk classes/lessons

· Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school

We are hopeful that the students who wrote the IGCSE and the AS level May/June exams did well. We do hope to improve upon the results as we promote Excellence due to numerous interventions, team work and diligence by the staff. Promotion of individualism of students by teachers becoming Facilitators also promotes Excellence through hard work.

Our environment promotes and stimulates a certain profile of the individual and this is a feather in our cap. We also have the Google classroom which is serving as an effective tool/ platform for the students and teachers. We are hoping that the parents can be fully involved in helping us to grow this platform and adopt the process.

To ensure we provide interesting and organised teaching pedagogies, we have introduced certain changes

· Pace-setters: individual students plan their work in advance following the term planner made by the teacher

· Improved observations and assessment of work

· Promoting writing and reading skills across the board

· Individualization (every child matters) support should be for all the children

· Monitoring of students work throughout the school

· Recruitment of experienced teachers to join our team

· We have amended some of our policies. Please read all the policies on the site and adhere to them

I

n order to provide a well-rounded and a well-grounded individual, we complement our Academics with Co-curricular Activities. These include:

· Horse riding

· Swimming and diving

· Camping

· Hockey

· Soccer and netball

· Kick- boxing and karate

· Cycling and volleyball

Would you please ensure that your child signs up for at least one co-curricular activity.

To enhance both internal and external communication with parents, we have begun a quarterly Newsletter. Teacher Natalie Simmons is in charge of our Facebook page. The majority of our schooling community prefer WhatsApp as the platform of communication.

Please do not hesitate to contact or book an appointment to see the School Principal or the Public Relations Officer- Lesley Welgemoed (lesley@studyhouse.education) if you wish to discuss any issues or challenges regarding your child. We encourage you to visit our school website.

We thank you for your support and look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely

K. Mashingaidze

Principal.
